"Stopped here to celebrate a birthday. I'm glad we did. This is an interesting and unique part of Evansville and is worth a try. It's always Christmas inside- ask your waitstaff... The building's exterior looks like it's from another era, and has been hit with a recent storm. The inside is unique and worth exploring. The staff for our visit was attentive, made great suggestions and enhanced the overall experience- thank you. I tried an old fashioned from the bar while I waited for our party to arrive and was pleased. For dinner we ordered the T-bone, NY strip, pork chops and shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Steaks are hefty. The pork chops are enormous and the best deal on the menu. In my opinion the chops were better than the steaks, which is rare for me to say. The steaks were good, the crust on them was heavily seasoned. I'll probably ask for a lighter steak crust next time. Still, this was a well above average steak of well above average size and good quality. The steak was good enough that my wife enjoyed her MEDIUM OR MEDIUM RARE STEAK. which is not normal for her. She needs it to be torched in most situations. Really happy the staff maintained the integrity of the meat for her. Anyone asking for a well done steak here needs to reevaluate their priorities. This is not the place for a piece of beef leather. Prices are elevated, but again, you won't find another steak or pork chop quite the same here in E'ville. The salad and Arabian bread were interesting and enjoyable. A bit salty, especially for flatbread. We didn't try dessert this time but seeing other reviews, and also watching how many filets came out of the kitchen while I was there has helped me to know what I'll be trying next time. Cash or check only."
